Run down the column on the left for basic conversions, dig into individual menu items for more complex fiddles. It is probably the most complete and versatile raw converter, even in its free V4.4 SE version for Panasonic.

It's just a matter of learning the software and reading the rather excellent (but a bit awkward to read at times) help file, starting with Section 10 and then using each bit when using particular features. Has it changed at all?įunny you say that as I find Silkypix the easiest and most logical one to use to get good results quickly. If I remember correctly, Silkypix user interface isn't it's strong point, at least when I tried it when I got my GF1 in 09. I veered away from proprietary DAM after an incident that lost lots of keywords etc, so went back to own management via Windows day dated folders with added text. Have noticed other apps get me better final results but ease of use, convenience, features, etc. LR's DAM's convenience and general ease of use is pretty much the only reason I'm still predominantly using LR. I might be interested but otherwise, I'm more interested in finding something that would replace Lightroom's DAM (digital asset management) so I can ween off LR. #2 OV3 and Silkypix and Lightroom all much the same as a second tier but only a whisker behind the first tier. #1 Capture One and DxO, depends on what you take. If you need a hit list, from my comparo tests it seems this way. If someone says that Silkypix can produce substantially better results than DXO or Lightroom, These days also use DXO when it warrants. Have been mainly using Lightroom for ages. Me: Nostalgic Silkypix fan now using DxO most of the time. You can customise the list to easier see version comparisons.

For anyone using the free V4.4 SE for their Panasonic then this deal lifts you to a better featured V8 Pro version.Ĭompare features here where the Standard list contains the V4 of the free version. To get the same software that handles all brand cameras it is a darn sight more expensive.

From past experience you get occasional normal software updates but not updates of the camera list. If you buy a new body that's not on the list then you have to wait for the next cheap deal in maybe another year.

List of supported cameras - Sales period: NovemAp(JST) - Sales price: 3800JPYīut as mentioned it only handles Panasonic cameras to that date, check the list. * This product is available only with Panasonic cameras released by November 20, 2017.
